Learn How to Create the Hottest Sugar Shoe Designs from Master Cake Artist Elisa Strauss
Our guru of all things fashion-forward in cake has done it again! Elisa Strauss has just launched a brand new Craftsy class, “Runway Ready: More High-Fashion Heels” teaching you how to make the hottest new high heel shoe styles using the latest silicone mold additions to the Fashion Accessory Collection at Marvelous Molds®.
Elisa’s newest class introduces three new types of shoes, all made with templates, embellished with realistic fabric effects and textures, and finished with stylish decorations created with molds from Elisa’s latest collection.
Lesson 1. Introduction & Carving Forms
Get set to create your runway ready shoes by following along as Elisa takes you through the preparation of creating the structures to support your shoes through the process. You’ll make ramps and formers and get Elisa’s hottest tips for success.
Lesson 2. Modern Pump: Construction
Elisa will show you how to create a beautiful, modern pump complete with heel tap. You’ll add the sole before moving on to assemble the upper part of the shoe, embossed with the Lizard Impression Mat for a realistic-looking reptile finish.
Lesson 3. Modern Pump: Finishing
Watch the lizard skin pump come to life as Elisa dusts it with petal dust and paints python-skin details. Lastly, she adds an insole with a realistic looking label. What gal wouldn’t love a pair of these?!
Lesson 4. Peep-Toe Bootie: Construction
Next, Elisa creates a fashionable peep-toe bootie, texturized with our brand new Distressed Leather Impression Mat. Learn how to assemble all the parts to prepare for the fun of decorating the shoe with more great accessories made from the newest editions to the Fashion Accessory Collection.
Lesson 5. Peep-Toe Bootie: Finishing
Up next is the exciting part – embellishing the bootie with zippers, buckles and laces. Elisa adds a realistic looking zipper made with our Zipper and Pull Mold Set and buckles made with the new Small Bridle Buckle Mold.
Lesson 6. Platform Sandal: Construction
Finally, you’ll learn how to make a trendy platform wedge sandal with an elegant two-tone heel enclosure and detailed under sole and sole liner. She made the upper sole with Scalloped Insole Silicone Onlay®.
Lesson 7. Platform Sandal: Finishing
Finish your sandal with fashion-forward straps, rhinestone studded buckles made from the Rectangular Bejeweled Buckle Mold, metallic paint and studs.
Lesson 8. Extra Embellishments
Learn how to use some of the other Fashion Accessory Molds to bring your shoes to life. Elisa demonstrates how to make authentic looking feathers with the new Small and Large Feather Molds and added a special accent with our Beaded Button Mold. Lastly she shows how to create a motorcycle bootie complete with spikes made with the Spike Strap Mold and more buckles made with our newest Large Bridle Buckle Mold.
