Yes! All of our silicone molds, impression mats and onlays are made with silicone that complies with all regulations set forth by the Food and Drug Administration in FDA 21 CFR 177.2600. Our silicone has also been subjected to the FDA’s extraction testing by an approved and independent laboratory. This testing specifically certifies that our molds are safe for water-based foods and foods that contain fat.

Yes, our silicone molds, impression mats and onlays also work well with other moldable materials such as polymer and precious metal clay, wax, plaster, plastic casting resin, cement, low melt metals, sculpting and potters clay, melt & pour and lye soaps, papier mache, hot glue, and many more. However, if you use a mold for a non-food purpose, DO NOT use that mold for food. Molds used with food should only be used for that purpose; they are NOT interchangeable with non-food molds.

Marvelous Molds are commercial grade molds, with a toughness that ensures dependability and durability. That said, many things can affect the life of your silicone molds. What is the mold being used for? Has it been cleaned and stored properly? How often is it being used? The more use a mold gets, the more wear and tear it will go through. Proper care can help keep your molds in good condition for a long time. Improper care will result in more damage to your molds.

Our silicone molds, impression mats and onlays can be washed with hot water and gentle soap or they can be boiled. They are also dishwasher safe. Never wash Marvelous Molds with any abrasive cleaning pads or cleaning agents such as Ajax cleanser.

Always clean your molds before storing them. Silicone molds, impression mats and onlays should be stored flat, either wrapped or in food storage containers. Do not store anything on top of them that may weigh them down or warp them, as this will compromise the integrity of the mold and possibly change its natural shape.

Our silicone molds, impression mats and onlays tolerate temperatures of up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. They can also be placed in a freezer without damage or loss of flexibility.
